So, you’ve likely stumbled your way into the Markiplier fandom and found yourself in an ocean of confusion after seeing certain off-the-wall characters played by or tied to this wonderful guy. That’s where this crash-course introduction post comes in. After reading this post and watching the videos linked, you’re guaranteed to be up to speed on most of the characters that tend to appear in Mark’s general videos and comedy sketches as well as in the Tumblr tag.

The first section of this post only pertains to what is factual and canon within Mark’s channel, whereas the “NOT CREATED BY MARKIPLIER” section is reserved for characters from outside of Mark’s channel that have garnered a big enough following. You’ll have to look somewhere else if you want to know something about an “ego” you learned about in the #markiplier tag that isn’t listed here. This post will be updated whenever more of Markiplier’s characters are (re)introduced in any of Mark’s videos, or when additional crucial information about past characters is confirmed by Mark himself.
